Science - Friction
We did an experiment recently to see how far toy cars - or dinkies - would go on different surfaces.
We measured them on grass, on lino, on our class tables, on tarmac and on the garden benches.
Before we started we predicted which surface we thought would let the cars go furthest and we put them in order. They went furthest on the lino because it is the smoothest and gives the least friction.
They went the shortest on the grass because it is bumpy and gave the most friction.
Have a look at our class gallery to see us hard at work.
People Working in our community
We had a visit from Garda Foley and Garda Bergin. They told us all about their job.
They showed us their bullet proof vests, batons, handcuffs and their walkie talkies. Ciara even got to make a call from the walkie talkie.
Luke got handcuffed! Múinteoir was delighted.
Charlotte's Web
We're reading Charlotte's Web by EB White at the moment.
We have made word searches based on the story and also done art using building noodles to show something from the story.
Ceann le Ceann
This is a game we play as gaeilge where múinteoir says a word in English and we have to say the word "as gaeilge" as fast as possible to beat the person you're going "ceann le ceann" with.
Recorder
Gach Luan agus Déardaoin we play recorder with Múinteoir Helen
