Damhsa Lessons
On Wednesdays, Mrs Mairéad Blanchfield visits the school for Damhsa lessons. All pupils participate in Irish and set dancing.

Swimming
All pupils attend swimming classes, usually in the third term.

Fís Movie Production Programme
In recent years, S.N. Chiaráin Naofa has been involved in the Fís Video/Movie Production Programme run by NCTE in conjunction with local education centres. We represented the Carlow/Kilkenny region in 2006 at the Helix in D.C.U. and were also chosen to represent the region again in 2008, with our movie “The Chemical Catastrophe”.

School Sports Evening
The Annual Sports Evening is held each June and is superbly led by the Parents’ Association.

Communion & Confirmation
Communion with Rang a Dó takes place in St Brendan’s Church, Stoneyford, each May. Rang a Cuig and Rang a Sé are confirmed with Newmarket N.S. and Scoil Móin Rua every second year.

Shared Reading Programme
Parent volunteers visit the school weekly to work with the children on our Shared Reading Programme. All our pupils from Naíonáin Mhóra upwards participate in the programme. We are most grateful for the support and effort that parents give in working with us.

Sports
The pupils of S.N. Chiaráin Naofa play gaelic games with Carrickshock GAA club, along with playing for the school. In recent years many of our pupils have also taken part in FAI soccer blitzes. Many of our pupils also play handball with Kells handball club.
