Siopa na nGlasraí:

Earlier this month we had a "Siopa na nGlasraí".  We sold organic produce from our vegetable garden which the children had grown under the supervision of parent Rita Costello.  We also sold fruit that grew in another parent Willie Holden's orchard

Hibernation Hotel:

Rang I and II are making a Hibernation Hotel for our little garden friends to hibernate in over the winter (ladybirds, lacewings, snails, beetles, etc).  Pupils have brought in bags of leaves, hollow bamboo canes (or any other hollow stick), dead wood, roof tiles, hollow plasic pipes, cardboard tubes, straw or plant pots etc. 

National Tree Day:

October 6th is National Tree Day.  Pupils from Rang III to Rang VI will be going to the Castle Park in Kilkenny to do a nature trail based on the Cherry tree. 

Manus Crowley, local forester, will be coming in on the day to share his expertise and to do some tree identification with Rang I & II
