Enrolment

SN Chiaráin Naofa is a co-educational school in Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny. The school currently has five mainstream class teachers, two special education teachers (1 shared), a special needs assistant, a secretary and a caretaker. The school caters for boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. The school has a Catholic Ethos under the patronage of the Bishop of Ossory. Although it is a school with a Catholic Ethos it is inclusive and welcoming of children of all faiths and no faith. The school currently has an enrolment of 125 pupils divided into 5 mainstream classes (Junior Infants / Senior Infants, Senior Infants / 1st Class, 2nd/3rd Class, 4th Class and 5th/6th Class)

Enrolment in SN Chiaráin Naofa generally begins in October each year. Parents can submit an Application for Enrolment Form either through Aladdin using the link below or by requesting an enrolment form from the school. This can be done by contacting our school secretary Maggie Moran (secretary@stoneyfordns.ie) Once this form is completed, the parent is not required to take any further action until they are contacted by the school at the beginning of March. Once places are offered, parents will then be required to confirm acceptance of the place in writing and provide additional information.

To apply for enrolment in any class other than Junior Infants, parents are advised to contact the school Principal, Kieran Byrne, by email (mkieran@stoneyfordns.ie) Parents will then need to complete an enrolment form for their child and submit it to the school indicating the class level you require. It is recommended that you follow up with an email/phone call to the school to ensure that the application has been received.

Applications for enrolment are accepted throughout the school year. In some instances, a waiting list for a particular class level may be in operation. Parents whose application is placed on a waiting list will be notified by the school if a place becomes vacant but they are advised to keep in regular communication with the school.
