Sports Update
We have had a very busy and successful year on the sporting fields and courts at our school.
The school year began with Athletics in Thomastown, followed closely by Gaelic football competitions involving both our boys' and girls' teams. We also had a number of pupils proudly representing the school in the Kilkenny Primary Schools Handball competition.
Throughout the year, our pupils participated in a variety of Mini Sevens competitions, including soccer, Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. There were many notable achievements across all age groups. Our camogie team reached the Roinn E Shield Final, our U13 hurlers progressed to the Roinn D Semi Final and our U11 hurlers reached the Roinn C Finals. We were also delighted to have a team represent the school in a GAA Quiz, where they demonstrated excellent knowledge.
Within the school, pupils enjoyed a range of sporting activities, including Gaelic football and hurling leagues, as well as lunchtime leagues that encouraged participation, teamwork and fun. To round off the year, we hosted our very own World Cup Soccer Tournament.
Pupils also enjoyed taking part in tag rugby, gymnastics and Irish dancing during the year, giving everyone an opportunity to develop new skills and stay active.
Our swimmers also enjoyed great success at the swimming gala, bringing home an impressive two gold medals and two bronze medals.
We are extremely proud of all our pupils who represented the school throughout the year. Their commitment, enthusiasm, sportsmanship and teamwork were evident at every event. A sincere thank you to our staff, coaches and parents for their continued support, especially those who provided transport to matches and events throughout the year. We look forward to another exciting year of sport ahead.
